Oral Motor Treatment

At Mun-H-Center, we have a team for oral motor consultations. The following professionals are part of the team: dentists, speech-language pathologists, dental nurses, and dental hygienists. The oral motor team works with assessment of oral motor dysfunction in children, adolescents and adults and gives advice concerning oral motor treatment and orofacial aids and assistive devices. Assessment and treatment planning is preferably done in cooperation with the regular care giver.
An important task for Mun-H-Center as a resource centre is to spread knowledge about oral motor treatment to patients, parents, and care givers through publications, courses, and lectures. Our ambition is that the treatment we recommend shall be based on scientific research. Therefore, we initiate and take part in research projects that may lead to more effective and reliable methods for oral motor treatment. In order to evaluate treatment outcome we have obtained technical instruments for quantitative measurements of oral motor function. We offer colleagues in the field of oral motor therapy to come to Mun-H-Center and use our equipment for their own research projects. We also offer technical support.
