Content: To what extent are our lives shaped by the looks we are born with? This is a highly relevant question in a world fixated on physical appearance, and one that this book addresses with the respect and care it deserves. On these pages we meet young Swedish people who are were born with facial disfigurements. They share with us their thoughts and experiences in a series of incisive and insightful profiles by journalist and author Anna Lytsy and Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin, one of Swedens best-known portrait photographers.
The idea for this book came from the Swedish Network for Psychosocial Support for Individuals Living with Facial Disfigurement and the Swedish branch of the Nordic Association for Disability and Oral Health. The Swedish edition was published with financial support from the Swedish Inheritance Fund.
